Samantha Berry
Principal Physiotherapist
Sam graduated from the University College Salford with a Graduate Diploma in Physiotherapy in 1991. After qualifying, she worked in Coventry and Rugby hospitals, initially specialising in the treatment of neurological conditions. Since this time, she has worked in a number of private practices whilst remaining in the NHS to specialise in musculoskeletal physiotherapy. She has a special interest in the treatment of chronic pain and holds an Advanced Practitioner post within the South Warwickshire Foundation Trust pain clinic.
Keen to further broaden her scope of practice and keep up to date with evidence based care, Sam completed an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice in 2018 with distinction, at Coventry University. Through this, she acquired skills in advanced health assessment and became an independent prescriber. Additionally, Sam has training in CBT and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, so as to provide psychologically informed physiotherapy. She has been practising Pilates for many years and is an Australian Physiotherapy & Pilates Institute (APPI) trained Pilates instructor.
Sam combines this knowledge, along with manual therapy skills and in-depth knowledge of exercise therapy to provide holistic care for all her patients. This allows her to place the patient at the centre of every treatment, maximising their potential to recover from their injuries and manage their condition in the long term.
In her leisure time Sam is a keen athlete, regularly competing in the Veterans team for Rugby and Northampton Athletics Club. She cycles with Daventry cycling club and participates in the Rugby Park run, both running and marshalling.
Sam is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP No.050824 ), the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC No. PH45104) and the Advanced Practice Physiotherapy Network (APPN)
