Age Strong

Build strength. Improve balance. Stay independent.

Age Strong is our small-group, physiotherapy-led strength and balance class for people aged 60+. It is designed to help you keep doing the things you want to do, whether that is playing sport, walking and travelling, getting down to and up from the floor more easily, or simply staying strong as you get older.

Classes run twice a week at our clinic on Clifton Road, Rugby, and are led by Nayana or Jessica, our Senior Physiotherapists.

Why Age Strong?

As we get older, maintaining strength, balance and fitness becomes increasingly important. But getting older does not mean accepting that everyday activities should become harder.

Age Strong focuses on building capacity rather than avoiding activity. Each class works on the things that keep you independent and confident day to day.

What we work on

Strength for carrying shopping, climbing stairs and getting out of a chair.
Balance so you feel steady on your feet and less worried about falls.
Mobility to keep your joints moving freely.
Fitness and conditioning so you can walk further and keep up with the grandchildren.
Confidence in what your body can do.
Everyday function: gardening, travelling, playing golf, getting up from the floor.

Expert exercise. Personalised support.

Age Strong is led by physiotherapists, which means the exercises are carefully selected and adapted to your individual needs and abilities. If you have a condition, an old injury or a joint that needs looking after, your physio will know how to work around it.

That makes Age Strong a good fit for people who feel nervous about joining a conventional gym or exercise class.

Small groups. All abilities welcome. Physiotherapy-led.

Where Age Strong fits

Many people join Age Strong after finishing a course of physiotherapy with us, as a way of keeping the strength and confidence they have built. Others come alongside our Pilates classes, or simply because they want a class where the person leading it understands how the body ages.
